Timing varies in length, depending on the character of the work. These exercises and journeys include finding your power animal, meeting your guides, and basic navigation in the Lowerworld, Middleworld, and Upperworld. Shamanic practice is vast, and many processes and exercises can be experienced through journeying to order to achieve personal objectives. Initially, journeying resembles sacred tourism of the various mythological regions of Shamanism. We are going to be working with methods that have been tested over thousands of years, and to make the best use of them, you will be following specific protocols and structures. These formal rituals ensure that you make strong connections with your helping spirits, your tutelary spirits, and your power animals. You will be learning fundamental skills you need to get under your belt, step by step.
In this exercise you begin to connect up ordinary reality and the mythic realms of your imagination. In practicing it you will discover your own sacred place of silence and natural beauty in which you feel absolutely safe and to which you can return no matter in what circumstances you find yourself. Creating a cocoon to which you might escape uncomfortable experiences whilst journeying is a vital asset in the exploration of your core self; this process allows you to test your emotional and psychic boundaries in safety. Your cocoon becomes your sanctuary, which you may use for healing, for renewing your physical and mental energies, for cleansing your body or your psyche, and for tapping into creativity.
Gaining new skill sets in journeying, learning to remember our experiences in other dimensions, and garnering confidence after loss or trauma are all important skills for shamanic practice, both in our daily lives and in our journeys to other realms. You will be taking on skills that give you access to vast realms of consciousness which until now you may have only inadvertently explored. As you develop increasing self-awareness, you step into your own spotlight, where, like an actor on stage, you suddenly see yourself differently than you have before. You need to practice accepting your new insights and integrating them over and over until they become so ingrained that you feel them within yourself. In this new place of self-awareness, you meet your new teachers of shamanism, who are the spirits themselves. The techniques you learn from them become the ladder by which you climb the steps of consciousness to make a firm connection with your healing spirits. The power which you gain from opening your conscious awareness is rooted in your instincts. In this workshop, we learn to move, to stand in different postures, and we learn to make instinctual, energetic contact with each other.
As you clear a space, you become aware of yourself in relation to your environment. You will be using your rattle to orientate yourself in time and space according to the four directions: north, south, east and west. You will apply your skills in journeying towards reinforcing your movement towards a specific goal. Until one is committed to an intention, there is hesitancy and the chance to draw back from all acts of initiation and creation. The moment one definitely commits, the path forward becomes unencumbered. Each direction has its own mythology, and you learn to see, hear, touch, taste, and smell each pathway you choose. As you commit to clearing a pathway for your soul, you become a tracker, and your senses become heightened. This workshop is sometimes held partially outside, in a natural environment.
This is an advanced process in which you will learn to work on your own clients who need rebalancing from the inside out. The location of the assemblage point is the epicentre of energy within the human energy field. You will learn about the anatomy of this location and about energy lines which comprise the torus around the body before proceeding to train in techniques on how to shift the assemblage point into position.
